Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier

From a humble start in 1954, Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier has grown into an important resource for youth across northeast Georgia. The organization now supports twenty-five clubs across two counties, helping underserved young people access a supportive after-school learning environment.
New Markets Tax Credit proceeds helped finance the rehabilitation and overhaul of One Positive Place, a 25,000-square-foot club. Carver State Bank and Truist Community Capital provided allocation, with Truist also serving as the tax credit investor.
$15 Million FPL Food Expansion

FPL Food began in 2004 with the purchase of a harvesting and grinding facility. Over the following two decades, the company expanded its operations while pursuing its goal of producing sustainable, high-quality beef.
New Markets Tax Credit proceeds supported an expansion of the company’s rural facility, including a new dock and cooling facilities. The improvements increased freight capacity, storage, operational efficiency, inventory control, and processing capabilities.
Georgia Community Reinvestment Fund provided the NMTC allocation, while a consortium of local Georgia banks served as the tax credit investor.
$11 Million Newberry College Project

Newberry College is an accessible college located in a rural South Carolina community. The school combines a liberal arts foundation with professional degree programs and emphasizes personal attention and a close-knit academic environment.
NMTC proceeds funded upgrades to the Nursing and Health Sciences Center, including classrooms and simulation laboratories. The financing also supported a new healthcare clinic and renovations to the athletic stadium and its field house.
South Carolina Community Loan Fund provided allocation, and U.S. Bank served as the tax credit investor.
$19.5 Million Neighborhood Health Project
Fort Wayne, Indiana · Closed December 12, 2023
Neighborhood Health was developed to address serious healthcare barriers affecting southeast Fort Wayne, including limited access to quality healthcare, behavioral health services, oral care, and multilingual services.
The organization acquired the former L.C. Ward building and transformed the 40,000-square-foot property into a state-of-the-art, full-service community health center. New Markets Tax Credits helped make the redevelopment possible, with four CDEs providing allocation.
The project received the 2024 Operating Business QLICI of the Year national award.
$4 Million GrowFood Carolina Project

Sponsored by the South Carolina Coastal Conservation League, GrowFood Carolina developed a 12,000-square-foot storage and distribution center designed to strengthen the regional rural economy.
The organization connects small farms with the growing local food movement by providing sales, marketing, logistics, warehousing, and distribution services that are often only available to large-scale agricultural operations.
This small-dollar NMTC project produced a $993,000 subsidy to support local farmers, community outreach, and educational programs. Truist Community Capital served as both investor and CDE.
$20 Million HUB for Community Innovation

The HUB for Community Innovation was sponsored by the Medical College of Georgia Foundation, the Community Foundation for the CSRA, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta.
The project brought together several nonprofit organizations serving Augusta’s Laney Walker neighborhood. Two new facilities created more than 49,000 square feet of space for free healthcare, adult literacy services, a farmers’ market, child watch services, and after-school support for children and teenagers.
Carver State Bank, Truist Community Capital, and Community Reinvestment Fund provided allocation, with Truist serving as the tax credit investor.
$10 Million Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta provides after-school and summer programming for approximately 3,900 young people between the ages of six and eighteen in the Augusta-Richmond County area.
The NMTC transaction supported the ground-up construction of two facilities serving low-income children and families in a severely distressed census tract. The expansion increased capacity across the two locations by more than 300 students per day.
Carver State Bank and Dudley Ventures provided financing, while Valley National Bank served as the tax credit investor.
